It's amazing how negative rumors spread like wild fire and how most people believe the lies! I can't even fathom the priceless reaction of slanderers and gossipers once they are caught. Like possessed swines they would race into a frantic denial-- saying, "Nope, it wasn't me, I didn't do it or No, I'm the victim here!"
The most stupid thing however is when first hand information from the slanderers become a bewilderment to others. Everything would come to a hault and the next thing you know, you're the villain in an unfortunate twisted tale.
Moreover, I recently shared my side of the story in an eminently vague fashion which I do best in writing. Some people read it, some did not, some were confused, some were enlightened, some believed & there were those who didn't, which is A-okay! I wasn't trying to prove anything to anyone but I definitely have the right to freely express myself in which I'm doing again right now.
I believe interesting juicy topics can be very overwhelming but it can be pretty bloody and a heck of a punch too if we try to succumb to idiotic mentality such as throwing false statements to anyone and spreading it. Not to mention, "slandering" is the worst of all. It destroys relationship, someone's dignity, loyalty, mind and healthy work environment.
Here's a quick definition for starters...
Slander: to make a false spoken statement
that causes people to have a bad opinion of someone.
I know certain individuals who can be very difficult to deal with but I pray to God that I may love them and I may not be like them because it's just disappointing. I have dealt with two people not so long ago and believe me, it wasn't healthy at all. They display fake kindness at the front but secretly stabs you at the back. How do they manage to mock a smile and hurt you at the same time? I mean it's crazy!
Many times I was tempted to go on a beast mode and defy the fools but it's just not worth it. I realized it's not mine to avenge but for me to surrender to God (Matthew 12:36-37).
But hey, let me just remind everyone (especially to the third party wreckers & gossip mongers) --"You don't know the real side of the story because you weren't there when it happened to begin with, so stop overreacting!"
And to all the haters who love to defame thy enemies, maybe it's time to release that negative energy and channel it to something inspiring like reading the Bible and praying. I think that would really mean a lot.
My point here is this--life is difficult. We all have our own issues, problems to solve, family to feed, reports to finish, important matters to tend and inner insecurities to pray for. It's hypocrisy to even point someone else's flaws without minding our own faults as a person and we are all guilty of such sin one way or another.
Thereby, if only we would learn to mind our own business, confront problems politely, leave no room for insecurities in our hearts, speak to people gracefuly, pray diligently instead of defaming someone, and love our enemies like Jesus do--then hopefully our world wouldn't be as chaotic & we wouldn't have so much to fight about everyday.
P.S.
There's a fine line between openly sharing personal issues to trusted friends or loved ones (then keeping it) and discussing lies to others just to hurt a certain person in the process. Let's know the difference.
