Nonetheless, why is it important for a family to become a team?
“We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him…” Romans 8:28
God created family to be answerable to each other. We are designed for relationships and God’s desire is for us to manifest our love to Christ by being a true model to others day in and day out. Parents must be answerable to Christ to be able to encourage children to be likewise become Christ-like in deeds. If we are to prevent such forthcoming regrets in the future, God’s blessing of a family must be our main priority in order to avoid dysfunctional and disconnected home.
T.E.A.M
1. Take time to know your family.
Life is short and unpredictable. Our parents and siblings will not always be around for us. That is why, it is important to know the passion of each family member, to feel their hurts when they are in discomfort and to win their hearts as well.
2. Encourage one another.
It is written on Hebrews 3:13, “But encourage one another up every day. Do it as long as there is still time. Then none of you will become stubborn. You won’t be fooled by sin’s tricks.”
We must encourage one another daily. Husbands must appreciate the work of their wives at home; wives must learn to appreciate the work of their husbands and parents must learn to encourage their children at school and at home.
3. Avoid distractions.
Give your undivided attention to your family. It is important to set certain bonding time with your parents, brothers and sisters. It is vital to make a connection to avoid misunderstanding within family members.
4. Make each one accountable.
Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
- Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
It is inspiring to have someone who can help us in times of trouble. As a family, parents must first be accountable to God, then husbands to their wives, wives to their husbands and children to their parents.
For it is also written on Galatians 6:2, “Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”
Engage the Family to God’s Word, Work & Will!
We must study God’s word and live it out, we must serve out of gratitude, we must be an influence to others especially to our family and most notably, we must follow God’s design according to His will and purpose.
