Remedies For The Brokenhearted

I have no power to heal a broken heart but I can always inspire you with words of love.

There's really nothing to it, just sit back, relax and read.

Are you having trouble deciding?

Do you feel like the world is against you and you have no one to trust to?

Are you having constant feeling of rejection, dejection and misery?

Do you feel like you are not worthy of love because you think you're a bad person?

Are you always confused, heartbroken, obscured, doubtful, introvert, forsaken, abandoned, antagonized, wiping, wailing, sobbing, whining, shouting, screaming and practically yelping because of your imperfect life?

Then worry no more! Because God has the remedy for your aching soul.

First of all, the source of your problem is not your friends, your neighbors, your enemies, your parents, your pet, your acquaintances or the strangers you meet on the street. The problem is not the world, it's YOU.

Now let me elaborate that. Why YOU?

Because it's all in the mind, folks! The pain you're experiencing is the result of over thinking, endless cramming, too much expectations and being overly pessimistic!

Who ever said to you that life is supposed to be easy? Are you blind or just plain dumb? Because the way I see it, it's either you're too dreamy or unrealistic that's why you tend to forget that life is imperfect.

And why is that so?

Because God said so. He said that life here on earth would not be pleasant especially to those who believe in Him and His Son Jesus. Thereby, if you're a Christian, expect all the worse possible setbacks in your life.

1 Peter 4:12-13
Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

God's remedies for the brokenhearted:

  1. Know Jesus. Okay, Jesus is not just a name of a person. He is the Son of God, redeemer of man, lamb of God and Savior of the world. Unlike us, He is pure and without sin. Because of God's amazing love, He sent Jesus to save us from our transgressions. He died in the Calvary so we may be saved from eternal damnation (Luke 19:10).
  2. Surrender your life to Jesus. Repent and accept Him as your personal Savior.  Let Him be the center of your life and make Him the first of your every thing (John 3:16).
  3. Be sincere! Repentance and acceptance is not some kind of magic formula to salvation. Be honest to the Lord and He will bless you.
  4. Cast your burdens to Him. You are not alone. Let Jesus handle all your problems. The disappointments that kept you imprisoned is not of your concern anymore. Have faith and He will deliver you from the pain  (Isaiah 41:10).
  5. Put your faith into action. You are now a new creation! Leave the old profane ways and start a new life with Him. Put your faith into deeds (James 2:14-26).
  6. Know Jesus even more. Now that you have accepted Him in your life, don't just stop there. Grow and be fruitful! Learn more about His love and good grace by studying the Bible. Reading the Bible doesn't make you perfect but you become aware of God's love and your purpose in this world. The Bible is the living word of God. It is like the food to the soul (Matthew 5:6).
  7. Share His love to everyone! Do not be ashamed to tell the world about His great love. Be a living testimony to others on how Jesus saved you and changed your life.  Do not be intimidated if people reject it because you are greatly rewarded by the Father who sees you in Heaven (Matthew 10:32-33).
Rejoice and be fruitful!

Brethren, you are saved by grace and not by works. Never forget to put your faith into action. Accepting Jesus as your savior doesn't mean you can sin freely. The word 'repent' signifies that you are disregarding your old bad self and you're ready to live a life free from sin (John 3:3; 2 Corinthians 5:17). We are to flee from sin and be a new creation!

"We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God." Acts 14:22

Believers or non-believers, it doesn't really matter. If you're a believer, chances are the devil is doing it's best to make you bend your faith. So be strong and take courage because the spiritual battle between good and evil do not end. The devil will always find ways to make you detest God. If you give up now, dark forces will rejoice and you'll be lost forever in the abyss of misery, doubt and suffering.

Why do you think God permits the devil to do its job?

According to 1 Peter 1:7,"These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold--though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world."

Thereby, everything happens for a reason. When you're down, the Lord wants you to fight for what you truly believed in, to not give in to temptation and to fight for Him. Always remember that God uses adversity to build our character. He doesn't want us to be arrogant but to be humble and forgiving in any way.

What about the non-believers?

If you're a non-believer and you're experiencing all the mishaps, God wants you to search for Him. He wants you to seek him so you may find joy and contentment in your heart. But that doesn't mean that God is the source of your problem. Evil deeds and thoughts are not from God but of the devil (read James 1:13-18). Nonetheless,  the Lord wants you to realize that you are not alone and He is there to love you as a Father to His children. He is there to protect you from those wants to harm you. So cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you  (1 Peter 5:7).

Remembering what Jesus said on Matthew 11:28, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

Never doubt and never be afraid to call God for help!
